It depends what you really mean by 'biochemistry'. In truth, I think a little bit of orgo is useful for most biochemists, but it just depends on your research area. Most of the papers I read coming out of the 'Journal of Biological Chemistry' or the 'Biochemical Journal' are comprehensible with little to no organic chemistry.
